Yes, a controlled steam valve to ensure safe release of pressure so it doesn't build into anything that could possibly threaten the regime. People will go home patting themselves on the back, having had a good time and feeling righteous.

Unless you hit them with a general strike, absolutely nothing will change because you're enacting their orchestration

“this will be an attempt to channel energy back into a decaying Democratic Party with leaders who have already acquiesced to President Trump’s demands.” Respectfully, I don’t agree. I’m not a Democrat…or a Republican and I believe that there are significant problems in each party. Like many who will attend tomorrow, this is one of a number of nonpartisan efforts I am involved in. I don’t expect ‘No Kings’ to be the be-all, end-all political movement. Rather it is a meaningful and yes, even fun way for millions of like-minded individuals to get together to support a message of ‘power to the people’ (to reuse a 1960’s slogan) while rejecting authoritarianism, tyranny, and hate. And my experience is that attending this type of event can be key in mobilizing people in other ways against the corruption and many injustices so prevalent today. ‘No Kings’ is not perfect, but I believe it has a definite place in encouraging each of us to find our unique contributions to create a more inclusive and equitable society.
